Pencak Silat, The Truly Indonesia

Pencak Silat, the original martial art from Indonesia.

The ancestors of Indonesian created a form of defense technique of their family and group against the wild of nature. They composed a martial art style which reflecting animals manner like monkey, tiger, snake or eagle.

The spreading of silat in early age still unknown clearly. Maybe started since 700 AD, when major kingdomat that era  like Sriwijaya or Majapahit. It mentioned, they once have a great era of silat warriors.

I dedicate this sketch for my brother Bayu, he admiring martial arts for entire of his life. He loves to watching kung fu movie, he once bought some books about shaolin kungfu in childhood.

And of course, he is a silat warrior now.

The Sinking Of Audio Compact Disc Era

Yes, it was last night when i visited a mall in Bekasi, West Java.

I passed a music store when looking for some sketching pencils at Gramedia (one of major bookstore and publisher in Indonesia).

So pity, there was no customer there, the music store empty at all. Even i didn't seen the cashier. Haha.

Rising of digital era, ease the way to download music anywhere, anytime.

And the most important is freely.

Music piracy or whatever it named, surely it's a form of robbery for musician. They hard works are in vain.

Anyway, i confess that sometimes i still download mp3 from 4shared or rapidlibrary.

How about you?
